OUR STORY

We are Alicja and Jakub Wiechniak — a couple whose visions complement one another, both in life and in work. For years, we’ve shared a fascination with the language of materials — their textures, colours, and the way they shape the spaces we inhabit. This shared curiosity drives us to create: objects, accessories, furniture, and entire interiors that blend functionality with emotion.

Our deep respect for craftsmanship, passed down through our families, has become the foundation of our work. Enriched by our own imagination and energy, it gave rise to Calva Studio — a space where traditional artistry meets contemporary design.

Each piece we create draws inspiration from the timeless principles of classic form, interpreted through a modern lens. Our sketches are entrusted to the hands of people we know and value — including Alicja’s father, a master carpenter — and other artisans whose expertise often spans generations.

Every element is crafted with care, precision, and an attention to detail that ensures lasting beauty and integrity. We believe that a well-made piece of furniture carries both strength and soul — qualities meant to be lived with for years.
